Privacy Policy

Welcome to Test Drive Anything

We last updated this policy Sep 1, 2015.

We may know a lot of lawyers, but that doesn't mean you need to go to law school to understand what we do with the personal data we collect on our website. Here are the details, in plain English.

Information We Collect

We ask for certain information like your name, email address, phone number, and driving credentials to use Test Drive Anything. We use this information to help participating Test Drive Anything dealerships schedule and deliver test drives to consumers like yourself.

For your convenience, we use cookies so you don't have to log in every time you visit our website.

Our Use of Your Personal Data and Other Information

Test Drive Anything won't sell or rent your personal information to a third party. Primarily, we use personal data to assist Test Drive Anything dealerships in scheduling and delivering Test Drives to their potential customers. We may use personal data to provide you with predictions about other vehicles you might be interested in the Test Drive Anything network of dealerships. If we intend to use your personal data in a way we have not mentioned, we will let you know when we collect that information.

Sometimes we aggregate user data anonymously to understand our customer base better.

Our Disclosure of Your Personal Data and Other Information

We share your personal data with the dealership you booked your car from. If we work with partners or contractors, they may have limited access to your personal data but only so much to do their job.

If we sell the company, personal data may be included in the transfer.

This privacy policy only applies to private information we collect and store. See your specific dealership privacy policy to see how they store your information. If you post information in a public place, like our review site, this is public information and can be shared and reproduced.

You must be 18 years old to use Test Drive Anything and have a valid drivers license.

Links to Other Web Sites

We may link third-party websites. Our privacy policy only governs our own website.

We take many steps to ensure your private information and account credentials are safe, including encryption and requiring two-factor authentication for our staff. To this end, if you find a security problem, contact us and we will fix it immediately. Keep in mind, emails and communications with us are not encrypted.

What about Cookies?

Our site does encourage your web browser to store small amounts of data, known as cookies, on your computer. We use cookies to keep sessions for our software logged in, to help users test drive again, and to help repeat site visitors avoid content they've already seen. We don't extract any personal information from the cookies we store, and you can disable cookies in your browser settings without adversely affecting the behaviour of our website.

What about 3rd party tools?

Many Internet users are rightly concerned about the ways that large Internet corporations are collecting data about individual users, particularly through the use of 3rd party tools embedded on other websites. We are reluctantly complicit in this problem. We experiment regularly with different technologies, including staples like Facebook and Twitter widgets and Google Analytics, but also unusual fare like Persuasive Labs. When you load a page on our website, you are most likely loading a number of embedded widgets or code snippets from these 3rd party services. Each of these tools has their own privacy policies, and may store their own cookies, and we encourage our visitors to read the privacy policies of these external services.

When possible, however, we choose configuration options that share as little information as possible with 3rd party service providers, out of respect for your privacy. Ultimately, however, we can't take any responsibility for data collected or analysis performed by these providers. If you want to minimize how 3rd parties can track you, on all websites, you can disable 3rd party cookies in your browser settings and enable the "Do Not Track" setting. Note that honouring the Do Not Track setting is optional, and many websites ignore it.
